Are you thinking about getting divorced?
In the process of getting divorced?
Post divorce?

If so, you might benefit from working with a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®). A CDFA® is a financial professional who completes an intensive training program to become skilled in the financial issues of divorce including: divorce law and procedures, finances, insurance, marital and child support, property division, retirement plans, debt, tax issues, etc.

I'm Ilene Amiel, a CDFA® and founder of Divorce Financial Consultant.  I'd like to work with you. Getting divorced is one of the biggest financial decisions you will ever make. And you're negotiating during a time when your emotions are high. I understand. When I was going through my divorce at the end of my marriage, I felt as if I was playing Monopoly® without the instructions. We had to divide our assets - money, property, retirement accounts - and I didn't know the rules or how to play the game. The process was confusing and filled with uncertainty. Looking back, I definitely would have benefited from working with a CDFA®.

During a divorce support group meeting, I listened as many of the women expressed concern about not having the background or experience to deal with finances, either because their spouses managed the money, or they just weren't knowledgeable. Their lack of experience, coupled with the stress of the situation, left them at a disadvantage.  I decided that I wanted to devote my time and energy to helping other women with the divorce process. I enrolled in the CDFA® course, passed the four qualifying exams and created Divorce Financial Consultant, whose mission is to provide financial education, coaching and lifestyle analysis for women during the divorce process.
